December, yes what a month of ups and downs for me here’s some of them
UP. I went to the opening of the 3rd exhibition of Hayden gallery, Marlow UK, they were exhibiting 3 of my paintings. WOW !! My first ever gallery exhibition. My husband and I had a great time there.
DOWN. 2 hours prior to the opening I slipped and sprained my ankle.
UP. I was determined to get to the opening and luckily, I had some larger boots with me that accommodated my ankle swelling.
DOWN. Not a lot of enthusiasm to put up the internal house decorations
UP. The decorations got put up the week before Christmas Day. Our son who’d come to stay helped me.
DOWN. Christmas tree. Not decorated by the week before Christmas
UP. Our son helped me and now the tree looks truly beautiful, we’ll keep it up well into January as it’s too pretty to get rid of on/before 12th night.
DOWN. Got our share of colds, runny noses and sore throats and coughs – sons asthma got worse.
UP. We worked together to prepare the three courses for Christmas dinner. Each course well spaced out before the next one. This togetherness is what my Christmas is about.
DOWN. Our son has just dropped the profiteroles on the carpet !!!!!!
DOWN. Oh heck no carpet cleaner – note to self, must get some.
DOWN, DOWN. RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN – how disheartening is that ??
UP, UP, UP. What am I looking forward to in 2024?
Of course it’s painting what I love, oh and loosing some weight.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
